22 July 2021: The Inspector’s Report was received on 22 July 2021. The Report finds that the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan is sound, subject to recommended main modifications.

29 March 2021: Consultation on proposed Main Modifications to the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan concluded on 29 March 2021. Please see the representations section below for further details.

17 March 2021: An Erratum notice relating to proposed Main Modification 131 was added to the proposed Main Modifications to the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan consultation page.

15 February 2021: Consultation on proposed Main Modifications to the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan is taking place for 6 weeks between 15 February and 29 March 2021. View all of the information relating to the proposed Main Modifications to the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan consultation.

22 January 2021: The inspector has now published the final version (Version 6) of a list of actions arising from the hearing sessions. This can be viewed in the Examition Library as INS 06e (PDF, 232KB).

13 January 2021: The Council has produced an updated version of their schedule of potential changes. The inspector has now confirmed that it can be published. This can be viewed in the Examination Library as SD17b (PDF, 1.23MB).

5 November 2020: Discussions on Matter 8 (cont.) were concluded this morning (05 November 2020) so the afternoon’s session will no longer be needed. The examination resumes tomorrow morning (06 November 2020) at 10am.

4 November 2020: The inspector has now published Version 1 of a list of actions arising from the hearing sessions. Please note that this is a developing document and will be subject to change. The council has sent a letter to the inspector requesting him to recommend modifications to make the Plan sound, as required under Section 20 (7)c of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. This can be viewed in the Examination Library as LBL 03 (PDF, 12.7KB).

27 October 2020: Discussions on Matter 2 were concluded this morning (27 October 2020) so the afternoon’s session will no longer be needed. The examination resumes tomorrow morning (28 October 2020) at 10am.

26 October 2020: The inspector has changed the start time for the session on Main Matter 4: Economic Development, Retail and Town Centre Uses Questions 4.1 – 4.3, taking place on Tuesday 3 November. This session will now start at 09:30am.

14 October 2020: Hearing statements have now been received in response to the Inspectors’ Matters, Issue and Questions. They can be viewed on the Hearing Statements page. The hearing statements are provided in the order of the Matters.

1 October 2020: The Inspector has issued a revised programme for the hearing sessions, showing participants. This programme can be viewed in the Examination Library as INS 05a (PDF, 158KB). The inspector had invited representors to suggest additions to his Matters, Issues and Questions. This has now been revised in the light of four suggestions and can be viewed in the Examination Library as INS 03b (PDF, 170KB).

21 September 2020: The Inspector has issued a draft programme for the hearing sessions (PDF, 125KB). This may be subject to change. A full version of the programme showing participants will be issued in due course. This draft programme can be viewed in the Examination Library as INS 05 (PDF, 120KB).

17 September 2020: The Inspector has published an addendum to his Matters, Issues and Questions. This can be viewed in the Examination Library as INS 03a (PDF, 57.0KB). The Council and Respondents will be given an additional week to respond to this matter (Matter 10) only (Friday 16 October 2020).

14 September 2020: The examination hearings will commence on Tuesday 27 October 2020. Details are set out in the Notice of examination (PDF, 73.9KB). The inspector has issued his Matters, Issues and Questions (PDF, 167KB)and a Guidance note for participants (PDF, 203KB). These can be viewed in the Examination Library. 1 September 2020: The London Borough of Lambeth has responded to the Inspector’s letter of 18 August 2020 (PDF, 142KB). This can be viewed in the Examination Library as LBL 02 (PDF, 324KB).

22 May 2020: The London Borough of Lambeth submitted the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan Proposed Submission Version January 2020 to the Secretary of State for examination on 22 May 2020, in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we cannot, at this time, make available to view printed copies of submission documents at the Town Hall or in any Lambeth libraries. However, this will be done as soon as circumstances allow.

The inspector

Mike Fox BA (HONS) DIPTP MRTPI has been appointed to conduct the examination to determine whether the London Borough of Lambeth Local Plan Review is sound.

Programme officer

Carmel Edwards has been appointed as the Programme Officer for the examination and will deal with all procedural and administrative matters. She is independent from the council and reports directly to the Inspector. Ms Edwards is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the examination and will act as a channel of communication between the Inspector and all parties, including the council officers and representors.

Hearing sessions

The examination hearings took place virtually via Microsoft Teams commencing on 27 October 2020. Details are set out in the Notice of examination (PDF, 73.9KB).

The inspector issued his Matters, Issues and Questions and a Guidance note for participants. These can be viewed in the examination library as INS 03 (PDF, 161KB) and INS 04 (PDF, 188KB) respectively.

Examination library

The Examination Library contains a list of documents submitted for examination and background documents that have informed the production of the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan Proposed Submission Version. It also contains documents relating to the examination and will be updated as the examination progresses.

Representations

From 31 January until 13 March 2020, the council invited representations on the Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan Proposed Submission Version January 2020 and associated Proposed Changes to the Policies Map January 2020 (under Regulation 19 of the plan-making regulations).

From 15 February to 29 March 2021, the council invited representations on the proposed Main Modifications to Draft Revised Lambeth Local Plan Proposed Submission Version January 2020.
