Lambeth Archives

Lambeth Archives is the record office and local studies library for the London borough of Lambeth. We hold the historic records of Lambeth council, the deposited records of many local organisations and a local studies and museum collection.

About Lambeth Archives

Lambeth Archives collections are an excellent source for local, house and family history as well as for local archaeology, architecture, biography, black history, geography, LGBTQ+ history, social history, transport and women’s history. Whether you want to trace your family history, a house history, discover the origins of your neighbourhood, or look at the records of Lambeth Council, our staff can guide and assist you.

Our collections

We have extensive catalogues to our collections, which date back to the 16th century, and which include the records of local government, schools, estates, churches, businesses, societies, charities and much more.

Lambeth Archives welcomes additions to its rich and diverse collection by gift, loan, bequest or purchase. If you have an item of historical interest that you wish us to consider for inclusion, please contact us.
