This programme continues efforts to reduce flood risk for the borough’s residents and businesses whilst:
- providing new and improved green spaces
- cooling surrounding areas during heat waves
- supporting biodiversity and physical and mental health
- improving air pollution
SuDS schemes will be implemented across Lambeth’s parks, streets, schools, and estates. The SuDS will be a range of solutions from tree planting to wetlands, built to mimic more natural drainage patterns. The types of SuDS will depend on site assessments and what residents tell us through our consultations.

In March 2022, Lambeth Council and partners committed to a goal of "10% of all rainwater on hard surfaces to be sustainably managed by 2030" in our Climate Action Plan.
