Equality, health and wellbeing

Equality

The Cumulative Equalities Impact Assessment seeks to understand the impact of national and local changes on our residents. It looks at how best to use our resources and work with partners and residents to play a full part in tackling inequality. The appendix sets out in detail how Lambeth is changing in respect of the key trends, which we believe will have greatest effect on the lives of our residents.

Visit our Equality Impact Assessments guide to see how council services and strategies are meeting equality standards.

Health

The Lambeth Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) identifies the current and future health and wellbeing and social care needs of the local population. It also outlines what assets local communities within Lambeth can offer in terms of skills, experience and resources.

The Local Authority Health Profiles and the  tool provides access to interactive and downloadable maps and reports on a variety of issues, from deprivation to health. This can be viewed at local authority level or smaller area level (such as MSOA and ward), as well as at clinical Commissioning Group level. Information and reports for geographic areas can be compared against the national average.

Wellbeing

According to the National Domestic Violence Helpline data, the number of calls received from Lambeth to their helpline was the second highest among all local authorities.

The Customer Led Transformation programme case study identifies the prevalence of violence against women and girls, specialist service provision and the future direction of a co-ordinated community response in Lambeth.

As a result of the research, a set of recommendations and an action plan were developed to help reduce the prevalence of violence against women and girls in Lambeth.
