Staying safe

Leave this page quickly if you feel unsafe

It’s really important to us that you feel safe in your day-to-day life, at home, college, online and in your community.

Some young people suffer from bullying, sexual abuse, being used by gangs, being targeted online, or other forms of physical or emotional abuse from a partner or family member.

If you are experiencing any of these, or feel unsafe, it's important that you speak to someone you can trust. Your personal advisor is here to listen to you and support you. If you feel you cannot talk to them, they will put you in touch with someone else who can help.

If you are in immediate danger, always call the police on 999.

It's not always easy to identify abuse. ChildLine's guidance on abuse and safety explains the different types of abuse you may come across and what to do about it.
