Is Lambeth Adult Learning open?

Lambeth Adult Learning is open and is delivering a wide range of courses and support.

While out learning centres are physically closed during the Covid-19 crisis, they are still delivering courses online and at a distance.

To find out what is on offer in your local centre, please see the list of course providers in the section called Adult Courses in Lambeth. Here you can find out how to contact the centre directly or visit their website page. 

You can also download the Lambeth Adult Learning Spring 2021 Course Timetable which lists all of the courses on offer in Lambeth from January 2021.

Can I enrol on a new course?

We are running a wide variety of courses online and at a distance. To find out exactly what is on offer, please download the Lambeth Adult Learning Spring 2021 Course Timetable or contact the centre directly. Details of each centre are in the Section called Adult Courses in Lambeth.

How will I know when you reopen?

Our learning centres will be re-opening when it is safe to do so. When they do, they will have additional safety measures such as social distancing and additional cleaning. We will be updating this website with further information.

Where can I find free learning and other offers for children?

Elevate – this website helps young people to stay creative. It contains activities and challenges which are free and accessible to keep young people interested throughout the Covid-19 crisis. Find out more on the Elevate Lambeth website. 

London Learning at Home – this website brings together free learning and cultural activities about London that children can access from home. You can search by age range, subject, key stage and level of adult input required. Find out more on the London Learning at Home website.

Where can I find help to apply for a job or find job opportunities?

Lambeth Adult Learning is working with Lambeth Council to support local residents find new jobs. Check out the Opportunity Lambeth webpage for help with finding work locally. Many employers are looking to recruit local people now and the Job Centre is sharing details of current vacancies here.

Other employment support from Opportunity Lambeth includes:

• Access to ‘fast-response’ online or telephone employment support
• Help with updating your CV, finding and applying for jobs
• Online skills development
• Referral for other support (e.g. applying for Universal Credit or the Lambeth Emergency Support Scheme)

If you have recently been made redundant, you can also get free training and support from Lambeth Adult Learning through the Response to Redundancy programme.

Supported by the Mayor of London, Lambeth Adult Learning providers Get Set UK and MI Skills Development are working with Jobcentre Plus to run free training to help local residents get back into work by improving their skills, learning new skills or even changing career direction.

 Get Set UK offer a 3-week training course with 7 more weeks of one-to-one mentoring and support to help you identify your skills and strengths, build your confidence and communication skills, find new jobs and learn how to successfully apply for work. How can I get help if I’m made redundant?
