Lambeth Local Plan 2021

The Lambeth Local Plan 2021 was adopted on 22 September 2021.

The Lambeth Local Plan 2021 sets out the vision, strategic objectives and policies for development in Lambeth for the period 2020 to 2035. The Plan covers housing, business and town centres, social infrastructure, transport and communications, environment and green infrastructure, quality of the built environment and places and neighbourhoods. Together with the Mayor’s London Plan and the South Bank and Waterloo neighbourhood plan (PDF, 4.6MB), it forms the statutory development plan for the borough.

The Local Plan replaces the previous plan for the borough, which was the Lambeth Local Plan 2015. Past plans can be seen on the Local Plan archive page.

The Local Plan was examined by an independent planning inspector. The examination concluded on 22 July 2021 when the Inspector issued his final Inspector’s Report and the final Inspector's modifications. The Inspector found the Lambeth Local Plan to be sound and legally compliant, subject to incorporating the main modifications set out in his report. The council made all main modifications to the Local Plan as recommended by the Inspector, as well as all additional modifications, and the plan was adopted on 22 September 2021. Further details about the examination can be found in the Local Plan examination library.
