Who can apply for a disabled person's parking bay

To apply for a new disabled person's parking bay you must:

  • live in Lambeth
  • have a valid Blue Badge
  • not have off-road parking, such as a garage or driveway
  • be in a suitable location where a bay will not have an adverse impact on road safety or traffic conditions.

You must make sure you meet all the above requirements before making your application.

Please note that:

  • We cannot install disabled bays on yellow lines, council estates or outside garage entrances.
  • Any Blue Badge holder can use the disabled bay  - the bay is not exclusive to the applicant.
  • Anyone parking in a disabled bay must ensure they display a valid Blue Badge at all times to avoid receiving a Penalty Charge Notice.

How to apply for a disabled person's parking bay

You can apply for a parking bay by completing an online form.

We will need the following supporting documents:

  • a copy of both sides of your current Blue Badge
  • a copy of your driver’s licence

If you are a wheelchair user or partially sighted then we will consider someone else who drives you but lives at the same address. You must include a supporting letter from your GP stating that you are a wheelchair user or that you are partially sighted.

Once you have completed the form, scan or photograph your supporting documents and return them by email or post.
