Notify us of an interest in a premises (Section 178)

If you have a legal interest in a premises, you can tell us so we keep you up-to-date with any licence applications to do with the premises.

A person can have a legal interest as:

  • the freeholder or leaseholder of the premises
  • a legal mortgagee in respect of the premises
  • a person in occupation of the premises.

Cost for this service

There is a £21.00 fee.

Payment options

If you complete your application online, you will be directed to the online payment portal.

If you complete a paper application you have these payment options:

  • Pay online with your debit or credit card via the online payment portal. Choose 'premises licensing' on the left. You will need to attach a payment receipt to your application and submit your documents to Lambeth Licensing. We will not accept applications without this proof of payment.
  • Pay in person at the kiosks at Lambeth Civic Centre. Kiosk payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or debit card.

What you need to know...

You do not need to let us know that you have a legal interest in a premises - it is your choice.

Once we receive your notification, we will record your interest, endorse the notice and then return it to you. We will then formally let you know of any new applications made for the premises that relate to licences under the Licensing Act 2003.

Your notice of interest is valid for 12 months from the date of receipt. After this time, you can submit a notification again.
