Coronavirus (Covid-19) business support

Economic Resilience Fund (Additional Restrictions Grants)

Phase four of the Economic Resilience Fund will provide direct grants to support businesses who have been most severely impacted by the Omicron variant.

This phase will target personal care businesses and independent hospitality and leisure businesses who provide in-person services. Personal care businesses may be eligible for grants of £2,677 in line with the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant awards. Independent hospitality and leisure businesses may be eligible for either £10,000 or £20,000, depending on their size.

Eligibility Criteria

Personal care businesses

Businesses in the personal care sector have been excluded from the Government’s Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme despite the fact they operate by providing in-person services. We know that they were particularly impacted by the Omicron variant, with December often being one of their busiest periods.

Businesses such as salons, hairdressers, barbers, or wellness businesses could be eligible if they:

  • operate in the personal care sector
  • provide in-person services
  • have ongoing commercial property costs such as business rates liability or rental costs

Grants of £2,677 will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Independent hospitality and leisure businesses

Hospitality and leisure businesses are a significant sector for Lambeth, and we know that they have been significantly impacted since the beginning of the pandemic. We also know that they were adversely impacted by the Omicron variant and plan B measures which saw restaurants or bars lose a significant number of bookings in a period which is typically one of their busiest.

Hospitality and leisure businesses such as, bars, clubs, restaurants, museums and cinemas may be eligible if they:

  • operate in the hospitality or leisure sector
  • are independently owned
  • provide in-person services
  • have ongoing commercial property costs such as business rates liability or rental costs

Grants of £10,000 or £20,000 are available depending on the circumstances of the business on a first come, first served basis.
