Ceremonies in the Ceremony Suite will be subject to a £50 non-refundable deposit to be taken when giving notice. This deposit will secure the date and availability of the registrar for your ceremony (this only applies to weddings in the Ceremony Suite and not the Registry Office). The remainder of the fee must be paid in full no later than two weeks before the ceremony.
Statutory ceremonies will take no longer than 30 minutes.
The assigned registrar will meet with both parties shortly before the ceremony start time. Arrangements can be made for the registrar to meet both parties separately if required.
In the event of a late arrival, the registrar reserves the right to reschedule to a different time if required, in order to accommodate our commitments with other ceremonies.
If either the Ceremony Suite or the Registrar Office is left in an unacceptable condition after the ceremony, a cleaning fee of £120 will be incurred.
If you’re getting married in one of our approved premises, you must book the venue before arranging your notice of marriage. You will not be able to submit your notice without confirmation of a booked and approved premise.
The price of the registrar to solemnize the ceremony is completely independent of the fee to hire the venue.
A non-refundable deposit of £50 must be taken when giving your notice in order to secure the date and availability of the registrar. This will be deducted from the registrars' fee. This also applies to ceremonies in Lambeth when the notice is given in another authority.
The remainder of the registrars’ fee must be paid no later than two months before the ceremony.
The Lambeth Registrar Office retains the right to cancel the ceremony if the registrars’ fee has not been paid in full within two months before the ceremony.
The cost of hiring rooms in the Town Hall (excluding the Ceremony Suite or Registrar Office) includes the mandatory security and cleaning fee.
Ceremonies in approved premises will take no longer than one hour.
