Dementia

Use this guide to find information on dementia and the support services which are available to help people and their families who are impacted by the disease during COVID-19.

In Lambeth, we have nearly 2,000 residents with dementia. Dementia is a disease of the brain and reduces the capacity of people to reason and make choices.

Memory loss can disrupt daily life and may be a symptom of Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Getting a proper diagnosis of dementia is important as it helps to rule out other conditions with similar symptoms so that you can get the correct treatment. To get a diagnosis, you need to contact your GP.
